As each of our products are handmade, please follow the below care instructions according to the product you purchased:
Sisal and Elephant Grass Shoulder Bags:
These bags are very durable and can be rinsed and re-shaped as needed using cold water. Wet the bag thoroughly, then press and smooth the bag to your desired shape. Shake out excess water and place bag in warn place to dry. We recommend not placing the bags on a surface where dye transfer might occur. This process can be repeated as often as needed.
African Mudcloth pillow covers from Mali are 100% authentic as each piece is hand-spun, hand-dyed, and hand-painted. The fabric is created throughout multiple processes using leaves, branches, and fermented mud from the Niger River. We recommend spot clean or dry cleaning only.
Natural brass will oxidize, or tarnish over time. This means it will turn a more muted shade of gold. In order to maintain a more shiny finish, store your brass jewelry in an air tight bag or wrapped in a cloth bag.
Remove jewelry before showering, swimming, or exercising, and avoid storing it in the bathroom (moisture and humidity are not great for brass). Remove jewelry before applying hairspray or perfume, or working with household cleaners.
Cleaning Brass Jewelry:
If you'd like to shine your brass jewelry up, there are a few easy ways to do it!
1. Use the polishing cloth that came in your order.
2. Use a brass polishing liquid. We recommend Brasso.
3. Make a paste of baking soda, water and lemon juice and gently rub it onto the piece with a soft cloth. Wash the mixture off using running water, then dry and buff with a clean cloth. Be sure to dry it completely.
Cleaning Gold Jewelry:
Put a few drops of liquid dish detergent in a bowl of lukewarm water. Mix gently and soak the gold jewelry in the solution for 15-30 minutes. Gently scrub the jewelry with a soft-bristled toothbrush. Rinse with warm water and blot dry with a soft cloth.
